How much does a silicone tail cost? Our tails start at $2000, and you can tack on upgrades from there (extra fins, upgraded monofin, accessories, etc). Shipping is additional & must be paid before we ship. A $900 dollar non-refundable deposit is required before work begins on the tail.
What does the order process look like? We're setting up our store, until then, your best bet is to email us and we can discuss details! You'll need to send us your measurements and we will send you a template to color in, so we can have a roadmap to your dream tail.
How long will it take to get my tail? Once you have paid in full, you'll get a secured place in line. Once production starts, your tail should be ready within two weeks (barring any kinds of setbacks- for instance, silicone takes forever to cure when it's really wet outside, so we don't make tails on rain days).
What kind of payment plans do you offer? We require a 50% deposit to secure a place in line, and the rest must be paid in full before we start production on your tail. Email us and we can set something up for you!
What are your tails made out of? 100% platinum cure silicone. And a monofin, naturally.
Will you teach me how to make a tail? We wish we could! The process is intensive and there are a TON of great resources online for learning how to make a mermaid tail- that said, we're happy to offer tips if you run into trouble on a project. We'll also be offering occasional tutorials on our Facebook page!
Can I really swim in a mermaid tail? Yep! We're not going to lie, it's a learned skill. It's basically a modified dolphin kick, but your legs are bound. Once you get good at it, though, you'll be shocked by your newfound speed and mobility! The tail, while around 30 pounds on land, is neutrally buoyant in water and as such, it won't weigh you down.
How long will my tail last? We offer a 1 year limited warranty on all our tails, and will happily fix and minor tears or scrapes that result from normal use for no additional charge. That said, you will be responsible for the cost of shipping.
What kind of monofin do you use? We use Finis Traner monofins in our tails. If you'd like to provide a different type of fin, or you'd like us to order you a different type, we can discuss options.
Can I swing by? Totally! We love meeting our clients (and mermaids in general)! We're in Austin, Texas. Holler!
